On May 9-10 the Muskegon Heights Middle School Band went to Cincinnati, Ohio to participate in Festival In The Park Band Competition. The band participated in the following competitions: Jazz Ensemble, Marching Band, and Concert Band.
The MHMS Band received many commendations including: 1st place in Jazz Ensemble, 1st place in Marching Band, and 2nd place in Concert Band.
Tee Smith received outstanding saxophone soloist in the Jazz Ensemble. Beverly Vaughn and Jevon Clark both received outstanding trumpet soloist in the Jazz Ensemble. Also in the Jazz Ensemble the saxophones received the outstanding saxophones' trophy. The Majorette/Pompon girls received an outstanding award in the Marching Band. The Muskegon Heights Middle School Band brought home 8 trophies!
