Special Services and Transportation
April / May 2010
Another great year for the transportation department! There were no injuries and no severe damages to the vehicles. We were able to meet all of our students transportation needs. We started the school year in full compliance with the buses; all were green tagged by the State Department, and few repairs were needed. These savings, lessens the load for taxpayers and more money is use for district services for students.
The Special Services Division has remained the same for number of enrolled students for the past three years. For the Fall 2010 school year, we’re adding another Young 3’s and Young 5’s Program to allow MHPS to service all students that may require services in the district. Ms. Celeste Parker is the Principal of these programs and if you have questions, feel free to call her at Glendale School.
There has been a lot of discussion and rumors about the “new” configuration of the district. Whatever plan is chosen to best meet the student’s needs, the district and the community we serve will always take into account programming for special needs students and we will continue to serve all students that qualify. Transportation will be provided for the 2010-2011 school year for all elementary students.
As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
