Students that are enrolled in Muskegon Heights Public Schools, who have been identified as having one or more disabilities, may receive special educational services through individually designed programming in general education, specialized classes, schools, centers, or a combination of placements that best meets the needs of the student.
The decision to place a student in any individualized, special program is determined by the Individualized Educational Planning Team (IEPT); consisting of the student, parent/guardian, school staff, general and special education teachers. In addition, the program may also include a family advocate, other students, agencies, or other community members who have a vested interest in the student or family.
Muskegon Heights Public Schools in collaboration with Muskegon Area Intermediate School District and other local school districts offer a full continuum of programming options for students with any disability.
