The Muskegon Heights Middle School is proud to announce its points of pride. We encourage our students to get deeply involved in extra-curricular activities, as well as academics. We realize that out number one priority is academics, which utterly drives student achievement. Therefore, we will continue to raise the bar for ourselves and not wait for others to do it for us.
  • Western Michigan University Student Scholarship Program. Ten students are awarded academic scholarships.
  • Grand Valley State university Wade McCree Student Scholarship Program. Ten students are awarded academic scholarships.
  • Ferris State university - GEAR Up Program, which track student throughout high school and then give full ride academic scholarship for school.
  • Middle School has maintained AYP status for two (2) consecutive years, which moved the school from level a level 4 school to level 0.
  • The Muskegon County Art Exhibit - our students' art work was displayed and purchased by the museum or visitors.
  • Won five (5) first (1st) place awards and numerous 2nd place awards in the Physics in the Park contest against all surrounding middle schools.
  • White Caps Reading Program
  • The Student Counsel adoption of Heartland Nursing Home. The student body donated Christmas baskets, which contained gifts and fruits, The jazz band played while the student sang christmas carols.
  • The middle school holds the title as the "Award Winning Jazz Band" among all other middle school jazz bands.
  • The Middle School's annual "School Lock-IN", which is sponsored by the student counsel; features dance, games, movies, video games, and food.
  • Middle School annual Black History Contest Winners.
  • Brighter Futures "Dare To BE Positive" Program. Building ...! Tomorrow...! Today...!
  • The Family Resource Center (FRC) through the Department of Human Services. Also the Muskegon County Family Court System.
  • The muskegon County Mental Health Center (on site).
  • The Middle School annual Sixth Grade Transitional Picnic (Middle School campus).
  • Annual Law Day Contest-Muskegon County.
  • Men and Women of Character Program (on site).
  • Muskegon Hackley Community Care Program(on site).
  • The middle school undefeated basketball and football sport programs. Also track and volleyball.
  • Destination Imagination local and state champion. Placed #15 in the World competition at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN. Countries as China, Russia, Australia, and many more.
  • Radio V-100 student radio Black History Program.
  • The Grand Valley State University SCI-Care Program for teachers and students
  • Culinary Arts Program/Curriculum
  • After School Computer Club Program. Technology Department
  • Annual Luncheon for the Honor Students
  • Team 78 annual Thanksgiving Dinner (students serve parents and staff).
  • Middle School "Annual Valentine Ball".
