Greeting Family and Friends!

At Martin L. King Jr.'s Elementary/Math Science Academy, we believe that the strengthening and perfecting of a democratic society is a responsibility of the school and home. We will strive to develop and enhance learning skills and provide opportunities for education and enrichment of all students. This will enable the student to think and work independently and cooperatively toward the solution of problems, develop skills, and cultivate inquiring minds. Our educational family members will foster the development of students as individuals, as contributing family members, and as responsible citizens of the community, state, nation, and world.

Every school is a training ground, but our school is much more than that. With out complement of quality elementary programming and rigorous math and science specialty, these are the areas in which future leaders will be developed. It is up to is, therefore, to provide guides to aid them through this time of transition and afford them every opportunity to grow, to develop, to be children, and to become young adults. We are implementers, guides, teachers, surrogate parents --- we discipline, we encourage, we praise, we cry with them, and we rejoice with them.

We are an elementary school and an academy, a school within a school; we help our children grow.
